Melbourne Swimming Club would like to congratulate all swimmers and coaches on an incredible Victorian State Age LC Championships.
MSC had 67 swimmers deliver a series of terrific performances resulting in a magnificent third placing overall at the State Age Championships and third overall for the Victoria Open and Victorian State competitions combined.
A highlight for the club was finishing first for the team points score for the women's category which showcased the depth of talent across our female athletes. The club's strong team culture was a key pillar in achieving strong relay results finishing in the Top 3 in 12 relay events.
We also had outstanding individual results with Luca Brown and James Logan both winning their Age Group Champions award.
MSC Head Coach Ian Pope said ‘This is a great result for the club and the swimmers individually. The commitment and hard working ethos of the group resulted in multiple PB’s and National Qualifying times. I love being part of this club and seeing so many of our swimmers develop as great athletes and people’. Ian was well supported by fellow coaches Liam Pope and Julie-Anne Roberts, as well as new Senor Coach Mark McGrann who leads the MSC Geelong program.
As a result of the strong performances, MSC has 31 swimmers achieve National qualifying times for the Australian Age, Multi-Class and Open Championships on the Gold Coast next month.
